An Eventful Weekend

OK so this is going to be a very long post (you have been forwarned), because it has been a very long day.

It is feeling like it has been kind of a productive weekend, I was able to get the house cleaned, and the kids were pretty decent most of the day today and yesterday.
Yesterday, I took the kids and we went to the fabric store with my mom, I found some cute material to make a bag and some material to make an apron. I forgot to get thread and I really needed some refill blades for my cutter and all of their notions were 50% off, but they did not have any, oh well. After that my mom came back to my house and did her taxes(now that she will have to do them again in 6 months). The kids watched Nims Island after dinner and then went to bed. I of course did not get to see the movie, I was cleaning up dinner.
We ended up staying home from church today because Andren has an icky nose and was coughing, I am pretty sure that it is because he is getting teeth, but I did not want to take the chance that he actually had a cold, and get someone else sick.

So here is a Typical day for Andren or baby POD (path of destruction) as we like to call him.
after I was done cleaning up one mess, I walked into the kitchen and what do I find, yet another mess made by none other then Andren. He got into the drawer and pulled out the box of baggies and unrolled, then entire roll all over the floor. And boy was he so proud of himself. He sat there with a big grin on his face, and then laughed when I told him he was naughty. And then he got up and ran away leaving me to clean up the mess. I ended up throwing it all away because I did not want to sit and roll it back on, I figured it was not worth the time and effort.

I did however get a bunch of sewing done today. I made two blankets for some guys at Dale's work that had babies, and worked on some rag quilts that I am using as Christmas presents.

These are called self binding blankets or envelope blankets. I am going to embroider a name and date of birth on each one too. I think they turned out kind of cute, being my first time making them. The second picture did not turn out to well you can not really see the color or print, but it is a pink background with little green turtles on it.

The girls were also learning how to sew today, and are making quilts for their baby dolls.
Bricanie finished hers, but I have not gotten a picture of it yet, and Kierra finished hers too. While they are having fun learning, I am trying very hard to be patient and not get frustrated with them. Kierra is having a hard time following the line and keeping her material straight LOL.

Here she is intently concentrating on sewing her squares together.

Here is Kierra with her finished baby doll quilt, she is so proud of it and wants to make another one.

Dale said that he had "mad" skills when it comes to sewing so he sat down to show the kids and me, his so called skills. (he might kill me if he knows that I posted these pictures LOL)

Dale secure in his masculinity

Wow he really can sew!!!

After the sewing demonstration, we made the kids dinner, and while we were doing that Andren fell down the stairs out back and scratched up his head, and his nose and he has a big bump on his forhead right between his eyes. Man he is accident prone. Someone once told me I should keep a list of every time he gets hurt. I think I would need a few notebooks. (HAHA)

All right the kids are all in bed now, and I just remembered that I still have to put sheets on my bed, and fold the clothes that are sitting on it, and change the load of laundry in the washer, man it is a never ending chore isn't it?
