Daxton turned two yesterday so for his birthday we decided to just have some family and a few friends over for a BBQ and fireworks. It was kind of a birthday/4th of July celebration all in one since Dale has to work on the 4th.
I was planning on doing a big party and had the theme of monkey’s picked out but then decided that I really didn’t know who to invite so I still stuck with the monkey theme and just did a low key party.

This is his shirt that I made him. This one was the 2nd attempt because while I was embroidering the first one I looked away and the machine caught the shirt and ruined it.
Here is his cake. I think it turned out cute for my first attempt and the fact that I am by no means a cake decorator. That is one thing I have not mastered yet.

Dale wrote on it for me.

Here is a quick little “photo shoot” I did of him. He was actually being cute and cooperative so I took advantage and there are a lot of pictures.

He looks a little on the mischievous side to me

He is starting to get little uncooperative at this point

He was done now and was not letting me take anymore.

Present time on the table. He wasn’t quite sure what to do

But quickly figured it out.

He got a cute car ramp and smarties

He got some bath toys

He also got a football and a towel just to name a few

Time for cake, but he was not sure if he liked it.

Once the candles were blown out and removed he was a little better with it, but was not sure how he should go about eating it.

He gave up on the spoon idea and tried again with his hands

He ate a small bite and then decided it was too messy and put it down and wanted to be washed up.
After cake it was time for fireworks.

Andren picked the firework he wanted to do first.

Kendon and some of the Barlow kids watching fireworks

Bricanie with her cousins Tori and Amanda

The kids up on the truck getting a better view of the parks fireworks after ours were all done.
cute posts. I don't know if it's doing it on yours or not but on my computer the pictures on your blog are really blurry - if I click on them they become clear but only stay the same size and can't be clicked bigger. Just thought I'd let you know :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Daxton - even though I'm posting this a long time after his birthday. ;) I can finally say he looks like your other kids... a whole lot now!
ReplyDeleteI love the monkey theme!
