Today we had the chance to have Kendon baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I am so proud of him and his decision to be baptized.
When I first started planning his baptism we ran into many problems and things were not falling into place like I thought they should. First, we did not find out about the the date and time of the baptism until about 2 weeks before. Next, we were not sure if we would have a second witness as my uncle was out of town and he is the only one in my family that lives locally and could do it, and Dale's brother was not sure he would be able to get off work. Then, my mom has been in and out of the ER several times in the last two weeks with an infection in her lower leg and we were not sure she would be able to come as she was last in late Thursday night. And she was giving the talk on baptism.Lastly, it seemed that everyone we invited was not sure they could make it.
I was tempted to postpone it until another day, but after talking to Dale he said he thought we should just do it and whoever showed up showed up. So I let it all go and just decided to do it anyway.
I know instead of stressing over the situation I should have just had a little more faith because everything went well. Dale's brother was able to get off work so we had two witnesses. My mom was okay-ed to come and gave a fun talk. More people showed up than I had expected, and the most important thing...Kendon was so excited and loved seeing all the people that came to support him.
Kierra gave the talk on the Holy Ghost and did an awesome job. I found the talk for her from this site.
I can't believe how grown up he looks.
One day I will look back on this picture and be ok with it, but you never know just how hugely pregnant you are until you have your picture taken. At least we have a picture with the 3 of us together. These were the only pictures we got.
My plan was to get back to our house for lunch and take a lot of pictures of the kids together and Kendon with everyone that was there, but by the time I was ready to take pictures EVERYONE (dale and my kids) had changed. So I plan to take pictures of them all tomorrow and that will just have to be ok.
