Party Day

Before I get to the party, I got a text at about 6:30 this morning from Dale asking me if I was awake..well I sort of was cause I was just feeding Braelynn, so I told him sort of why? I of course was preparing myself for the worse, but he text me back and asked if I or one of the girls would meet him to help with shop with a cop, because the little girl he had wanted to shop with a girl. So I told him I would get dressed and meet him there. I woke Kierra up to sit with the baby and was ready and out the door in about 10 mins.
When I got their they were still on their way so I waited in my car and before long the long line of police cars with their lights and sirens on came up the street. It was so cool to see all of them pulling into the parking lot.
Santa arrived in a helicopter to meet all the kids, they were all so excited.

We went on our way and started shopping, This little girl's mom gave her a list of things she needed before she could buy the things she wanted, so we got her some pants, shirts, underwear, socks, and boots, then we took her to see Santa, then finished up her shopping, She wanted lots of toys she wanted and it got to the point we finally had to tell her she was done. I kept asking her if she wanted to buy anything for her sisters, or her mom or dad, and she kept telling me know, then when we went to check out she decided she would buy a big hersey's kiss for each of them.

Off to the wrapping we went. They have volunteers that wrap all the gifts that they buy.

It was a great experience,I was a little disappointed that she did not want to buy more for her family, but at least she got the something at the end.

When I got home I asked my kids(individually) if you got to go shopping and had x amount of money to spend and could buy anything you wanted for Christmas what would you get. Bricanie automatically responded, "can I buy stuff for my siblings?" "Cause I would buy them all stuff first and then by myself one or two things"  Talk about a proud mom moment.  Kierra had to think about it for a bit and said she pretty much the same thing.

Now onto Andren's party

Here's the table all set ready for pizza and cake
I decided this time I was keeping it simple and made cupcakes and toppers (in photoshop) instead of a cake.
Well I thought I was, but Bricanie asked where his smash cake was(she is very much liking the idea of smash cakes for not just one year olds lately) and I said well I didn't make one, but since I had left over batter from the cupcakes I poured it in a pan and made one.
The problem with making a cake and frosting it too hours before the party, is that it is very crumbly and does not frost well. Bricanie said "it's fine mom, it looks like they had a battle"

Apparently I did not take pictures of all the activities so here is a run down of what we did: as the kids came they were issued their gear, a helmet and  a shirt my sister in law screen printed with the word army across the front. Next it was time for sergeant says, Bricanie was my sergeant (she even wore an army shirt because we had an extra one, kind of sad that she fits into a 6 year olds shirt)

Next we had physical training which consisted of sit ups, push ups, running in place etc, then it was on to the mess hall then off to basic training camp, where they had to do an army crawl under a net, weave in and out of cones, and up and down the stairs.

We then did target practice using a printable I found HERE and nerf guns.

We did the pinata next.  Andren hitting the pinata as hard as he can
the candy scramble. The pinata lasted through them all hitting it twice.
Cake time was next. Andren blowing out the candles

He LOVED the idea of a smash cake and didn't hesitate to dive right in

Here is the inside of the cupcakes...camoflage

Time for presents.
Money, he was pretty excited about this.
More nerf guns? How many nerf guns does one need? According to him you can never have enough

 More money

I really need to do a better job at taking pictures, I apparently didn't get a picture of all of the kids together either.
