Carving pumpkins

The kids went and picked pumpkins from the pumpkin patch the other day and have been bugging us to carve them since we brought the home. Well today we finally let them carve them.

I am not sure why, but Andren ALWAYS picks the big tall ones, that he can never fully carry on his own and always have a ton of "mush" to clean out which he can never get all of because he can not reach to the bottom of the pumpkin, well this year was no different, he picked a big tall one again.
Here he goes trying to clean out the pumpkin.
Trying to reach to the bottom of his pumpkin
Kendon getting his pumpkin cleaned out.
Kierra cleaning out her pumpkin...not sure why the scared look on her face.
Daxton cleaning out his pumpkin.
Not quite sure he likes the cleaning out part of carving pumpkins.

Apparently I failed to get a single picture of Bricanie carving her pumpkin...this may have been because I was busy helping the little ones clean out their pumpkins and carve them.

Here are the final outcome of the kids' pumpkins
Daxton's with the traditional jack-o-lantern face which is still my favorite kind.

The other kids like to use the stencils and do different things on theirs.
Kierra did a very happy jack-o-lantern face.
Andren wanted a scary ghost.
And Kendon wanted a skeleton face.

Again I am not sure how I missed Bricanie's, but she always does her own thing on her pumpkin and rarely uses a stencil.

After carving pumpkins I made some treats for the girls to give to their class tomorrow at their Halloween party.I got the idea from here.I didn't make anything for Kendon's cause he told me he didn't want to give anything out.

I made 30 bat ones for Kierra's class. I am not sure what I was thinking when I decided to make them they took quite a lot of time.
For Bricanie's class I made 28 mummies. These went a lot quicker than the bats. I should have just made all mummies.
